FAR NORTH DISTRICT PLAN Notification of Decision on Plan Change 12 -- Paihia Mission Heritage Area Pursuant to Clause 10 of the First Schedule to the Resource Management Act 1991, public notice is hereby given that at the Far North District Council meeting on 31 January 2013, the Council approved the recommendations from the Independent Hearing Commissioner made in respect of Plan Change 12: Paihia Mission Heritage Area; and has thereby made its decision. Plan Change 12 includes changes to the policy and rule framework in Chapter 12.5B of the Far North District Plan, incorporated in the plan in 2006 by Environment Court Order as interim provisions. The planning framework recognises the contribution made by the surrounds associated with heritage resources to the appreciation and understanding of historic heritage in this commercially zoned waterfront area, as well as having regard to the amenity values of the locality. Plan Change 12 affects the same spatial area covered by the existing Chapter 12.5B of the Far North District Plan which extends from 36 Marsden Road Paihia (Williams Memorial Church of St Paul) to Lot 1 DP 37470 (Memorial to the Launch of the Herald Trading Ship). This area is shown in ZONING MAP 91 and RESOURCE MAP HP5. The Plan Change also includes consequential amendments to the Definitions Chapter of the District Plan. The decision on the Plan Change is available for inspection at the following locations: Far North District Council Office, Kaikohe; Rawene Service Centre; Kawakawa Service Centre; Kaitaia Service Centre; Kerikeri John Butler Centre; Hokianga i-Site Visitor information Centre; all Council libraries (Kaitaia, Kerikeri, Kaikohe, Kawakawa, Paihia and Kaeo and on Council's website www.fndc.govt.nz.
