Admin team proves too crafty on rafts The annual Kerikeri High School raft race took place on Monday morning, and was a hard fought battle between year 7 and 8 students and teachers. Twenty-four rafts took to the water at the Stone Store Basin and cheering on the teams was Keri- keri Olympian Blair Tuke. The students lost to the teachers, with the administration team tak- ing the win. Race makes a return The Cape Brett Challenge race was last held in 2010 but Jan Danilo of the Kerikeri Striders is intent on bringing it back. He plans to re- establish the Cape Brett Challenge trail run based at Te Rawhiti in the eastern Bay of Islands, to take place on April 27, 2013. The event features three route options: 37km run taking in the iconic lighthouse; 17km Whangamumu run, which goes over to the whaling station and 10km Kerikeri Striders Kauri ridge run or walk. Entries are now open. For information or an entry form visit cape brettchallenge.com. Smokin' hot competition Burning up: Glen Adams in his Commodore.
