The Show started in 1842 near the Waimate Mission House and is still going strong today, with many original pioneer families still involved. Traditional events include equestrian, livestock, calf club, sheep and pet lambs, small animal tent, dog trials and trade displays, colourful food stalls, wood chopping competition and live entertainment with talent quests for adults and children.
