Chris Watson and Basil Stewart (Pakaraka) triumphed with 3.5 wins. A tight finish with four pairs on three wins saw Julia Penney and Daisy Drummond (Pakaraka) take the runners-up position from Judy Bethel and Brad Sissons (Waipapa). Inez Bunting and Lyn Nesbit (Whangarei) and Marion Banks and Colleen Harvey (Waitangi/Waipapa) on points. Bay of Islands Kerikeri Championship Pennants Team will play Northland in the final at Whangerei. No 2 Handicap Pennants Team narrowly lost 5-4 to Rawene in the Northern Region final. July 25 saw a good field tested with the challenge of Gays Game. With penalties for not reaching the fairway, plus variations on a theme, scoring proved a challenge. Audrey Helsby was the winner and Christine Penney and Judy Harkins tied for second, with Raewyn Sissons third. Small beginnings: Tautoro and Legend U11 rugby league teams play curtainraiser. Club plays curtainraiser The Tautoro Rugby League Club trav- elled to Waipapa Kauri on July 7 to play in a curtainraiser to the Muriwhenua Falcons against the City Knights game. In the main game City Knights beat the Falcons 20-18. Tautoro Rugby League Club would like to thank all those who have helped and given their time to support their club. Unstoppable Kerikeri: Dwain Beazley breaks away to add to his scoring total. Kerikeri romps in Kerikeri Bay Builders FC travelled to Whangarei on Saturday to play FC Whangarei 1st division in the Staf- ford Choat Cup second round. The away team took an early lead through Damon Lucas after some excellent passing from Rupert Mark. Rupert then fired a quick double to give Kerikeri a 3-0 lead. It wasn't long before Dwain Beazley scored, and Damon Lucas hit a trademark power drive. Halftime score 5-1 to Kerikeri. In the second spell Kerikeri pressed for- ward with Beazley scor- ing another 2 goals adding to his amazing tally for the season. Final score 10-1 Kerikeri. Kerikeri next game away Waitemata FC, 2pm Mcleod Park, West Auckland. Kerikeri Palmco played Central Browns on Saturday and lost 5-1 Kerikeri Palmco are at Baysport Waipapa against Onerahi Prems on August 4, kick-off 12.30pm.
