Far North The champ/champ singles were played the weekend March 17 and 18. The event was 4 rounds, 25 shots, or 1.75hrs time limit with no time limit for the finals/possible finals. Due to inclement weather this could not be finalised, all players will be notified when these fixtures are to be completed. Men's section second day at Kerikeri bowling club the 4 remaining players were Henare Wikaira (Kaik) and Rob Norman (Wait) 2 lives, Trevor Smith, Monte Pawa junior (RSA) the 1 lifers. After 5 ends this was called off with the scores remaining Rob 7-2 up against Henare and Monte 6-2up against Trevor. The women's section saw Linda Pedro (Keri) 2 lives, Karen Morunga (Kaik), Liz Muru (Kohu), Margaret Wildbore (Coops), Fae Norman (Wait) the 1 lifers, the same situation for the women Linda (bye) while Margret 3-2 up against Fae and Liz 7-2 up against Karen. First year men saw Kenny Mokaraka (Kaik) with 1 life leading 9-4 against Dave Masters (Church Rd) who has 2 lives. Women's first year are Kyra Rapana (Hou) and Teri Stout (Church Rd) both have 1 life, yet to be played. RUGBY The Taheke United Rugby Football Club held its AGM on February 29 and held a minute silence for the past president Thomas (TK) Warmington who passed away suddenly last year. A new committee has been elected and training for midgets and under-10s is every Tuesday and Thursday 4pm to 5.30pm at Taheke rugby grounds. HORSERIDING Northland Trail Riding Club The weather held fine for the ride in Dargaville through some stunning scenery. Thanks to Pam Wordley and her family for hosting the ride on their property.
