Swim a top family effort There was a great team effort by the Pearson family of Northland who were out in force at last weekend's State Epic Swim in Taupo. The trio from Kerikeri was headed by mum Nicky, one of the few swimmers who attempted to swim the course breaststroke. Nicky swam the 1km, 10-year-old daughter Hannah swam the 500-metre and son Harry, 16, the 5km State Epic Swim. Dad Noel was on hand too as a support person. It was great fun and I am defi- nitely keen to give it another go,'' Nicky says, despite being disap- pointed at not finishing her swim. State Personal Insurance gen- eral manager Kevin Hughes says the Pearsons are a great example. I take my hat off to Nicky for setting such a great example.''
