Then there are a few other community performances after which our HARP candidates of 2011 perform their songs. Then our main acts for the night: Mahina-Ina Kaui, Royala Wilson and Edz Korewha will end the performances off. There will be a late ferry for the community coming from the north side! Paihia Ex Servicemens Club Friday 18th November ~ 8pm to Midnight $5 Charge Proceeds to "Project Promise" SCORES AND DRAWS BOWLS Coopers Beach The Bronia Stockwell open mixed triples was played in fine conditions on the smooth artificial greens at Coopers Beach on Sunday, November 6. The winners were the strong father/ daughter team of Ray Thorburn & Jill Phillips skipped by Alan Thom with 4 wins 19 ends and 40 points. Second place went to Jim & Pam Naylor (all the way from England) with Pat Rayner on 3 wins and a draw, 23 ends and 56 points. Third were Dennis Breckon, Carol Smith & Trisha McClaren with 3 wins 22 ends and 46 points, Dennis appeared to be extra pleased with his all-girl team. In fourth place were Dawn King, Peter Wilson & Liz Baker with 3 wins, 21 ends & 46 points. Next open fixture will be the Mary Reed open mixed triples on December 28. Okaihau The 57th Rangi pairs men only tournament was held on November 5 and played at Kerikeri, Kaikohe and Okaihau with good numbers at all three clubs. In total 11 teams qualified for post section knock out play at Okaihau. Qualifiers were, skips name only, Grant Beckett, Noel Bonner, Bruce Shepherd, Quin Turton, Paul Vegar, Robbie Norman, Merv Kennedy, Barry Allison, John Hay, Shaun Haynes, and Chester Ruawhare. Merv Kennedy and Alan Martin ran out as Winners, with Quin Turton and Cedric Campbell runners-up. GOLF Kerikeri A fun round, not without challenges, was played as the closing day game on November 9. Members then held prizegiving, and enjoyed an early Christmas lunch. Barbara Nock, Nine Hole Convener, thanked Kevin Stratfull of David Reid Homes for their valued and generous sponsorship of nine-hole golf throughout the year. FOOTBALL Kerikeri Kerikeri FC is preparing to host their Annual Twilight Soccer Tournament which will kick off in January. Due to popularity of this event, the club will restrict the number of teams to 9 in each competition category, and will be operating on a first come first served basis. The family section is open to all with teams being entered to include junior players aged between 11 and 15 years old, and senior players playing in the same team. The senior category is open to all players aged 15 years and over. Registration forms and player lists are available from the Kerikeri Football Club website at www.kerikerifc.co.nz.
