Closure hits PostShop The liquidation of Cardales Stationery City in Waipapa where the Waipapa PostCentre and PO boxes are located has caused what New Zea- land Post hopes is just a temporary blip in full mail services to customers. A letter on July 23 says temporary arrange- ments were in place for Waipapa mail and parcels to be handled through the Kerikeri PostShop Kiwibank for a week. Negotiations with the owner of the Waipapa building for free access saw partial mail services resume there on Monday. PostCentre business manager, Kerry Hickey, says the building owner is seeking a replacement tenant for Cardales. PostCentres work inside a host business,'' he says. But if the new tenant doesn't want us there, we'll look for an alternative in Waipapa.'' New Zealand Post apologised to customers for the inconvenience and that it is hoping a new PostCentre operator will be in place in the building soon. No stamps or postal products are available and parcels for posting will need to be handled through Kerikeri. However, mail is available as usual in the Waipapa boxes and the building will be open 8.30am to 10.30am and 4pm to 5pm Monday to Friday and 8.30am to 10.30am Saturdays for collection of items too large to fit into PO boxes.
