Winner of the Monthly Medal Gross with a 72 was Scott Wilson, 2nd place with 73 was Mike Perrin, and third with 76 was Alex Neely. In the Net Medal competition and the Stableford Haggle, Hone Mihaka took first prize with a net 70 and 39 points, second with 72 and 37 points was Mike Perrin, and third also with 72 and 37 points was Scott Wilson. Twos competition winners were Barry Lines, Mike Perrin, Tony Philip, Alan Strang, Dennis Tanner and Scotty Wilson. Top Dog qualifying was a Pairs Better Ball Stableford competition and 20 teams qualified. BOWLS Kaeo Club Final Open Tournament, the Bob Leisure Cup, men's open triple was held March 12, with a field of 18 teams. Players representing clubs from Onerahi, Whangarei RSA, Waitangi, Kawakawa, Kerikeri, Kaikohe, Okaihau, Coopers Beach, Far North RSA and Kaeo. Thanks to the Leslie Family who sponsored the tournament. This was the 49th year since the trophy was first presented in 1962. At the conclusion of a very enjoyable day's play, a winner emerged. With four wins, one draw, 26 ends and 53 points, the Onerahi No 2 team of Ian Hall, Graeme McKinnon and Bob Shaw were the winning combination of the Bob Leslie Cup. President Terry Hemi thanked all those present for their attendance and to all who have supported the club over the season. Roadways designated for Northern Crossing This year's Top Energy North- ern Crossing multisport event will be held on May 7. The Kerikeri Rotary Club apologises for any inconvenience the event may cause on North- land roads as traffic slows down to accommodate the competitors, and thanks you for your co- operation. Clear notice of the event will be signed at the start and finish of each affected road section. Clearly identified marshals will be present at all control points where the event may affect road users. The event course includes: First running leg along State Highway 12 from the foot of Omapere Hill (south side) through the Omapere township to Opononi between 7.45am and 9.30am. Cycling leg from Rawene to Waipapa: Rawene Rd to State Highway 12 intersection. State Highway 12 east to Te Pua Rd, Te Pua Rd to intersection with State Highway 1. State Highway 1 from Te Pua Rd to Wehirua Rd. Wehirua Rd on to Waiare Rd. Waiare Rd on to Wiroa Rd. Wiroa Rd to intersection with Waimate North Rd. Waimate North Rd to State Highway 10. State Highway 10 from Waimate North Rd north for 2km. The duathlon event will start its cycling leg from Opononi on State Highway 12 and then be as above. Starting at 8.45am from Opononi, 9.30am from Rawene, and completing at 3.30pm south of Waipapa. Com- petitors on foot will be crossing State Highway 10 at the Waipapa Downer EDI yard between noon to 3pm. Spectators are welcome to cheer competitors at the transitions in Opononi, Rawene and across the finish line at the Stone store basin.
