Organiser Marian Andrews says the event should be big- ger and better than an inaug- ural fun day held last year. The idea is to give local families a day out that you do not have to pay to attend, with a number of activities free of charge. Deputy mayor Ann Court will make an entrance from the sky in a helicopter to open the fun day open at 10am. Attractions will include: Helicopter rides for $35 Old-fashioned races, such as an egg and spoon race, sack race, three-legged race, for children Face painting and a colouring competition A magician, kapa haka group and bands Thomas the Tank Engine rides Games and lucky dip stalls Sausage sizzle and food and drink stalls Free diabetes glucose test The chance to win $150 worth of petrol vouchers. Money raised by Lions will go to the Kerikeri Fire Brigade who will attend with the fire engine. The fun day is also an oppor- tunity for community groups to raise money. Leisure Marching Team, Riv- erview School, Kerikeri Pri- mary School, Toy Library, Kerikeri Scouts, Pakaraka School, Kerikeri Girl Guides, Bay of Islands Special Olympics, Kerikeri Gymnas- tics Club, Okaihau Lions have already signed up for stalls.
