SPORT Cayley NORTHERN NEWS, FEBRUARY 11, 2015 13 competes in tourney Rising star: Twelve-year-old Cayley Treadwell from Kaikohe and her horse Eeyore in the foreground are in great form at theNewZealand Juniors and colts Tournament. She took part in theNewZealand Juniors and Colts Tournament held in Waiuku, South Auckland last month. She was part of the Northland Polocrosse team, riding her trusty white steed Eeyore and was recognised as overall best number 2 team position. Cayley has been playing polocrosse for the last three years and rides for Kaikohe Polocrosse Club. Winner makes his fifth title in a row Club to hold boot camp The Circle Track Racing Association North Island Saloons title was held at Whangarei Speedway on Friday. The track was initially wet after showers but that didn’t deter Northland’s Roy ‘‘Inchman’’ Walker. Walker has already won the title four times – twice each at Taipapa and Kaikohe speedways and now adds the title for a fifth time. There was a good field of 11 cars including, Auckland entrants, with drivers displaying some superb manoeuvres and slick driving skills but Walker won the day. Final overall CTRA North Island results: 1 Roy Walker; 2 Brendon Stuckey; 3 Anita Sloot. The CTRA NZ Saloons title is at Taipa Speedway on March 21. CROQUET Doubtless Bay Croquet Club The club hosted its annual two day Four Square Croquet Tournament over January 31 and February 1. Over 40 players participated from clubs as far south as Warkworth to Kaitaia in the north playing both association and golf croquet. Results January 31. Following installation of floodlights at Lindvart Park, Kaikohe, BOI Hockey Association enjoyed a successful 2014 season. To accommodate growth it will be running free fitness and skill boot camp training at Lindvart Park. The Collegiate All welcome:M&Msvs Kerikeri at the BOI Summer hockey tournament. hockey season starts at 4.30pm April 22 with training from February 17 to March 17. School year 7 to 13 students are welcome to attend from 4pm to 5.30pm. JMC hockey for school year 1 to 8 starts with the Laurie Byers Opening day tournament on April 25. Training for year 1 to 6 children takes place February 20 until March 20 from 3.30pm to 5pm. For the first time in more than 15 years BOI Hockey will be running an adult open grade hockey season. New players are invited on February 26 at 6pm to find a team. Twilight hockey will run for five weeks to assist players to get fit for the winter season. Competition will be an 11 aside full field tournament, is free and runs until March 26. The season starts at 6pm on April 23 with the Top Energy Opening Night Tournament.
